We received a very nice thank you note last week from the Christ Child Society for our help in their baby bottle fundraiser. Our parish contributed over $8,000. That is a lot of loose change going to good use!
A flyer in last weekend’s bulletin gave a bit of information on Faith in Indiana, an ecumenical group which is organizing to advocate for immigrants, refugees, prisoners, and those in poverty. More information will be found this weekend in the Gathering Space. For those who are available, a bus is planned for an afternoon convention in Indianapolis this Saturday.
We have another unusual opportunity ahead. On Saturday, May 5, a group of classically-trained musicians will lead the music at our 5 p.m. Mass. After Mass, they will present a 45 minute concert of sacred music and then a seminar on liturgical music. Everyone is welcome to join us.
The Redeemer Radio Sharathon will take place next week, with our St. Charles hour on Thursday, April 26, from 2:00-3:00. Tune in. We have some very interesting speakers lined up. If you would like to make a pledge in advance, you may do so in the back of the church next weekend. Redeemer Radio provides Catholic programs and a good way to share our faith.
I will be leaving on Friday for a retreat at a monastery in Iowa, a visit with friends in Minnesota, and a couple of days with my parents. I will return on May 1.
