Karen is a native of Fort Wayne, and is a graduate of St. Charles Borromeo School, Bishop Dwenger High School, and St. Francis College (now USF). She did her graduate work at IPFW (now PFW), and studied sacred liturgy at St. Joseph College, Rensselaer, IN. She also received certification in organ performance through the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Karen has been on the parish staff since 1982. She is co-director of the 9:00am Parish Choir, and directs and plays for the 11:00am and 5:00pm Sunday Singing Groups. She also plays for the Monday morning school Mass, and accompanies the SCB School Cardinal Choir. Karen previously worked as a music teacher at St. Mary Catholic School and Huntington Catholic High School, Huntington, Indiana, and briefly taught at both Bishop Luers and Bishop Dwenger High Schools as choir director during her long tenure at St. Charles Borromeo. She has two wonderful adult children, Cynthia and Thomas, and two beautiful grandchildren, Maxwell and Sophie.
