Pastor's Column

April 19 pastor's column

After a long Lent it is good to be surrounded by flowers and singing our Alleluias again.  The Easter season lasts for seven weeks.  We have a lot of Alleluias ahead.

We would like to organize a group to make simple visits to our parishioners who live in retirement communities, especially those in Assisted Living or Health Care facilities.  If you are a person who enjoys visiting, this could be a chance to bring light into the lives of those who don’t have many visitors.  We are planning an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 in the Bride’s Room (off of the Gathering Space.)  Join us or call Beverly Ade at 260-414-0559 for information.

We had a very interesting talk from Jennifer Ristine, author of three books about Mary Magdalene.  Her books are available on Amazon.  Just type in “Jennifer Ristine” and you will find her titles.

Fr. Jery is at home in India for some vacation time.  His time away will include a family party for his parents’ 60th wedding anniversary.  He and Fr. James belong to the same monastery and he recently sent a photo of the two of them.
