This Tuesday evening, March 10, is our annual "The Light is On for You" event. Every parish will have a priest hearing confessions from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Our confessions will be in the Reconciliation Rooms in the daily Mass chapel and will continue while the 6:30 p.m. Mass is celebrated in the Church. Stop in for confession here or in any other parish. And please spread the word if you know someone who hasn't been to confession in many years.
Dr. Tom McGovern will give three Sunday evening presentations on the passion of Christ, beginning next weekend. Dr. McGovern has written a very well-researched book on the ancient histories, archeological finds and medical finds of crucifixion. He will also give reflections and Church teachings on the theology of suffering. Join us and invite a friend on any or all of the three evenings--March 15, 22, and 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the church.
I offer a reminder that we have many opportunities in the parish for Lenten devotions. On Wednesdays, we have the Blessed Sacrament exposed for adoration in our chapel from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. On Fridays, we pray Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m. Stations are also offered on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m.
Please remember in your prayers Ted Miller, who died last year at age 100. We have received a very generous gift from his estate.
If you would like to contribute to our parish Lenten project, helping the Passionist Fathers with their ministries in Haiti, write a check to St. Charles and write "Haiti" in the memo line.
