As you have heard, Bishop Rhoades is planning a Diocesan Synod in the fall of 2026. The gathering of priests which took place this week was a consultation to help prepare for that synod. Our parish is also scheduling a consultation to help in preparation for the synod. On February 22, the First Sunday of Lent, we will invite parishioners to gather in prayer. We will reflect on the mission of our parish and our diocese… what areas are working well and what areas of our ministry need more attention. Each person will be asked for their reflection. Summaries will be sent to the bishop’s office to help set the direction of the synod next fall. Watch for more details.
This weekend is our annual membership drive for our parish Knights of Columbus. I encourage every man in the parish to consider joining. The Knights have monthly meetings with prayer and a spiritual reflection. They also do countless works of service for the parish and for other good causes. If you could help with trimming shrubs, sawing boards, serving spaghetti, painting desks, cooking burgers, or selling tickets, you would be a good addition to the Knights.
A reminder of our school security efforts: we are now locking the church during school Masses. If you come late for Mass and find yourself locked out, come to the main Gathering Space doors. Our security officer is stationed there and can let you in.
